I’m Anita, the big dreamer behind Donate Buddies. But here’s a little secret: YOU are the real heroes of this story!
My own superhero journey began when I received a double-lung transplant—a magical gift that gave me a brand-new chance to breathe, live, and dream. Pretty incredible, right? But do you know who really sparked the idea for Donate Buddies? My own kids!
When they asked me all the big questions—“What’s happening, Mum? Why do we need organ donation?”—their curiosity and wonder lit up my world. That’s when I realised… kids like YOU have the most amazing superpower: the ability to care, learn, and make the world a better place.
That’s why Captain Buddy and I created this super fun, magical space! Together, we’ll explore how tiny acts of kindness can create BIG, life-changing miracles.

Where’s Anita?
If you’re looking for me, I’m probably hanging out at Paradise Point with my kids, chilling under a shady tree by the water. While they splash around in the waves, I’m dreaming up fun, exciting ways to help young heroes like YOU unlock your superpowers!
My days are packed with awesome adventures—like teaming up with Captain Buddy to create cool resources, brainstorming magical stories, and finding new ways to sprinkle kindness everywhere.
What makes my heart do a happy dance? Spending time with my kids (because, let’s face it, I’m a big kid at heart too!). Helping you discover the hero inside yourself. Turning organ donation into the ultimate superpower. And working side-by-side with families to create a world bursting with kindness, bravery, and a little bit of magic.

🌬️ Advocating for organ and tissue donation, as well as lung health, through my passion project @everybreathshetakes.

🌿 Exploring the beautiful corners of South East Queensland fills my heart with joy and inspiration!
From feeding the alpacas at Mountview Alpaca Farm to soaking in the peaceful vibes of O’Reilly’s or strolling through the Historic Rivermill, Canungra is my ultimate go-to for a magical recharge in nature.
On sunny days, you’ll often find me at Paradise Point, The Broadwater, Jacobs Well, Ian Dipple Lagoon, or Tallebudgera Creek—basking in the sunshine, splashing in the water, playing at the park, grabbing fish and chips, and enjoying fun walks or scooter rides with my kids. It’s pure bliss!
But my favourite moments? Sketching new ideas and creating magical adventures with Captain Buddy. There’s always a new story waiting to unfold—maybe even one with YOU in it!
